A little bit of sweetness goes a long way.

For my final #Choctoberfest 2018 recipe I am bringing you the most delicious double chocolate oatmeal you’ve ever had! It’s sweetened just enough with Imperial Sugar’s Light Brown Sugar so it’s perfect for mornings where you need some extra energy to kick-start your day!

Known here in the south as Dixie Crystals, we use all of Imperial Sugar’s products from powdered sugar to light brown sugar and of course, granulated sugar. Did you know that they are celebrating their 175th anniversary?! Yep!

Fun Fact: The Imperial Sugar Company is the oldest continuously operating companies in the state of Texas and was founded by one of the original 100 families brought to the state by Stephen F. Austin. Pretty amazing! I mean, how many other companies do you know of that have been around that long?

Imperial Sugar Products are the best sugars to bake with!

So now that we know how awesome Imperial Sugar is, let’s get you this recipe! It’s super easy to make and will be ready in just 15 minutes.

Add almond milk, gluten-free rolled oats and salt to a small pot and cook over medium-low heat for about 15 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove pot from heat and stir in sugar and cocoa until blended.

Scoop into a bowl and top with shredded coconut, banana slices or even a handful of chocolate chips and you’ve got yourself a hearty meal that will give you long-lasting energy!

Just a touch of sweetness from Imperial Sugar takes this Double Chocolate Oatmeal to the next level.
