Disclaimer: I received protein powders complimentary from Bob’s Red Mill to review through my partnership with FitApproach. As always, all opinions are my own. Full PR & Disclosure here.
If you follow a gluten-free diet because of choice, intolerance or Celiac disease then you definitely know the name: Bob’s Red Mill.
Bob’s Red Mill (BRM) has a full line of certified gluten-free and organic products that can be found in stores nationwide. I think my family and I have eaten almost all of them, but our Top 5 are Gluten-free Vanilla Cake Mix, Chia Seeds, Gluten-free Rolled Oats, Gluten-free Pizza Crust Mix and Almond Flour.
And just when you think they’ve got it all, they one up themselves and come up with a line of PROTEIN POWDERS!
OMG.
When I heard the news I couldn’t wait to get my hands on some samples to test them out and share with you!
If you don’t know, I practically live on protein shakes in the morning. They give me all the energy I need to start my day off right whether I’m instructing a group fitness class or chasing after my 5-year-old. With the right ingredients, a good smoothie can keep you full and going until lunchtime and beyond.
Here are the new products from Bob’s Red Mill:
- Vanilla Protein Powder Nutritional Booster with Chia & Probiotics
- Chocolate Protein Powder Nutritional Booster with Chia & Probiotics
- Chai Protein Powder Nutritional Booster with Chia & Probiotics
- Protein & Fiber Nutritional Booster with Chia & Probiotics (unflavored & unsweetened)
The coolest think about all of these powders is that BRM included chia and probiotics in EVERY SINGLE ONE!
Each serving has 20 grams of protein, 1-3 grams of sugar (sweetened with Monk Fruit), and 11-12 grams of dietary fiber! They are also rich in iron and have 240 mg of omega-3 per serving.
Talk about a healthy and wholesome product…they also are gluten-free, vegan and only use clean ingredients you can read and pronounce! Now that’s my kind of food! To learn more about this line of products click here.
So how do they fare?

Now let’s talk about this new Chocolate Protein Powder. I’m not typically a fan of any chocolate protein powder because it usually tastes chalky, but Bob’s Red Mill did a great job of smoothing out the flavor. The texture in all of their protein powders are going to be a little rougher because of the chia seeds, but not enough to get in the way. I personally love the fact that chia is included so I don’t have to add my own in!
This recipe is part smoothie and part parfait. You can mix and match it however you like with different berries and unique granolas. I chose raspberries, granola and a few mini-chocolate chips with my easy to make coconut whipped cream. Enjoy!
Raspberry Chocolate Breakfast Parfait
Ingredients:
- 1 cup chocolate cashew milk
- 1 scoop Bob’s Red Mill Chocolate Protein Powder
- 1 Tablespoon cacao powder
- 1/2 cup raspberries, frozen
- 1/2 banana, frozen
- coconut whipped cream
- ice cubes, as needed
- chocolate chips, optional
- gluten-free granola, optional
Directions:
Mix first 5 ingredients together in blender until smooth. If you’d like it thicker, add ice until desired consistency. Pour mix into 1/3 of glass, top with whipped cream and granola, continue alternating and then top final whipped cream layer with chocolate chips. Grab a spoon or a thick straw and enjoy!

Would love to try all of them - but chocolate of course first!

Yes! I can tell you that the BRM has more texture because of the chia seeds and probiotics so it’s not super smooth, but I like the extras!

Protein & Fiber, please! Thank you
