Cranberries and apples go together like turkey and gravy! For Thanksgiving Day - try this delicious variation on cranberry sauce - it’s sure to please everyone, including the little ones. Enjoy!
Cranberry Applesauce
Ingredients:
- 5 large apples
- 1/2 cup apple juice
- 1 cup fresh cranberries
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/4 cup agave nectar, to taste
Directions:
Core and cut each apple into 8 slices. Place apples, apple juice, cranberries, lemon juice and cinnamon into large pot and bring to boil. Simmer, partially covered, for 30 minutes.
Remove pot from heat and let cool for 15 minutes. Using a potato masher, mash everything together in pot and add in agave nectar to taste. When sweetness level is desired, cover & store in refrigerator. Serve chilled.
