The American Recall Center is launching a site committed to health & wellness and when asked if I would write about who keeps me healthy I was happy to oblige!  There are a lot of people that help keep me healthy: my husband, my friends, my DDP Yoga students, but today I want to talk about someone who comes in the tiniest package - but packs the greatest punch of all…my 3 year old son.  This little boy could melt your heart with just one smile.  He’s full of love and laughter and endless amounts of energy and there’s nothing I want more than to be here as long as possible to soak up every minute with him.

Not only does he keep me physically active, but he keeps my spirit healthy too.  If he sees me with a frown on my face, he’ll walk right over, put his hand on my arm and say, “It’s OK Mommy. Just smile!”.  He is my little angel, my ray of sunshine, my energizer bunny, my DDP Yoga buddy, and the reason I choose to live a healthy lifestyle of nutrition and fitness each and every day.  

In honor of hip replacement awareness month, I’d also like to give a shout-out to my dad.  He was born with a dislocated hip and had his hip replacement surgery back when I was in my pre-teens.  It allowed him to go from barely limping around - to full walking and allowed us, as a family, to be so much more active.  We were able to visit multiple theme parks, walk around new cities, and explore the world together and that is what being healthy & active is all about.  Enjoying life to the fullest with the people you care about most!
