The theory behind cold therapy (aka cryotherapy) is when you apply something cold to an ache or pain, it will combat the small tears in muscle fibers to reduce swelling, pain and nerve activity.

Many of you know me personally and know that I am a BIG advocate of icing down after a workout, especially if an area of my body feels particularly sore.

You know the old saying from Franklin, “An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure“. Well, I live this saying every day.

About 3 years ago, I had a partial tear in my upper bicep tendon and tendonitis in my right shoulder. It took 14 MONTHS to heal, so you better believe I’m going to do whatever I can to prevent that from ever happening again!

So, yeah, ice is part of my daily routine as a celebrity trainer for DDP YOGA and until last week you could find me toting around my ice pack with me wherever I went….that was until I tried Biofreeze®.

So what is Biofreeze®? 

Well the name pretty much gives it away, but the Biofreeze® products are a safe and effective pain relief alternative. Applied topically, they use the cooling effect of Menthol (active ingredient & natural pain reliever) to soothe minor aches and pains.

After giving these products a run over the past week I really can’t find any negatives. Biofreeze® is helping me provide pain relief so I can live the life I want. It’s convenient cold therapy, found in many of the stores I frequent and mess-free. I’m all in with 2 big thumbs up.
